I've not painted anything on this scale before, having been used to working on canvases, and also not with emulsion (apart from doing a spot of decorating work for people). But it was great practice, great fun, and I'd definitely be up for doing it again.
Watching the play was the best bit - then everything made sense. When you start out a project like this, the learning curve is huge. Mainly, that emulsion dries very fast (having been used to oil paint) and therefore you can't mix on the canvas (or board). This is limiting as you need a lot of palates to mix and also be braver and quicker with laying the paint on.
Next year, I've been invited to act a part, so I'll be interesting to see what Sheila comes up with!
